Garden Mentors Needed

Everything we do here at GFGH, we do with the help of volunteers. From teaching lessons at area elementary schools to building a greenhouse at the Clinton County Youth Council, we depend on volunteers to serve our community.

At this time, we are seeking dedicated members of the community to volunteer as mentors at the Friends of Hope Community Gardens. We invite avid gardeners and patient hobbyists alike to lend a hand with some of our garden families, many of whom just need a little encouragement and direction in order to become self-sufficient gardeners themselves.

Volunteer mentors are needed to attend Community Garden sessions for no more than two hours on either Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings beginning in mid-May (the first garden session dates are yet to be determined). We have 40 plots at the community garden and would like to have a mentor for each participating family though some mentors may be asked to help more than one family if they are able.

If you would like to be a mentor, click to download an Application
If you have questions, please send an email to Bernadette Gallagher, an AmeriCorps VISTA with Grow Food, Grow Hope or call (937) 382-6661 ext. 693

Get a Pizza, Give to GFGH!

Do you have dinner plans?

If not, Grow Food, Grow Hope would like to invite you to enjoy dinner at Generations Pizzeria the #1 local pizza eatery as voted by Grow Food, Grow Hope.

Take this flyer with you when you go to Generations for dine in or carry-out (or present it to the driver when you order delivery) and 20% of your total bill will be donated to our program, which will contribute to the number of people we are able to serve in the Wilmington community.

Over the past 3 years Grow Food, Grow Hope has donated 20,000lbs of food to local pantries.
